Ahh Mr. McCarthy, We Have Missed You So...

It's Benjamin Franklin all over again! You all know Franklin, he's the one Christians celebrate for requesting prayer at the Constitutional Convention. Franklin said, "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security." I would like to ask Mr. Gonzales how we know if someone is a suspected terrorists. Have we already violated their privacy in other ways? We are talking about American citizens here...Maybe if he looks like a terrorist looks? How much do you have to have in common with a terrorist to be a suspected terrorist? Are we talking about a GARB mistake here? Is this second person disassociation? I don't like them, I have no problem with you, but since you hang out with them I now no longer like you...maybe it's like that. Mr McCarthy, can I call ya Joe? It has been a while...

Not exactly sure what you are getting at in your comments on my blog. 'Generalist'...hmmm. 'Accepts the good in everything'...only a fool would over look the positive in a situation.

And about reguritating that which we have read...perhaps you should read some of my former posts...or the current one for that matter. It is actually attacking the problem known as the emergent church...which is why I do not understand what you are getting at in your comment.

scholars who are leading the way in the theological arena against pomo: Kevin Vanhoozer, D.A. Carson, John Frame, Vern Poythress, Carl Trueman, N.T. Wright, and Anthony Thiselton among others....which is, again, why I do not understand what you are getting at....i made no complaints about scholars not leading...I was, in fact, attacking the emergent church and its inherent problems...which came from reading both sides, evaluating the arguments, and then writing about it...in fact, did you even read what I wrote??

Your concern that this rings of McCarthyism is a legitiamite concern. Jefferson warned us that we must always be vigilent in the guarding of liberty. However, in this case there have been clear parameters set up to say who can be monitered and who cannot. If I call my grandpa I'm not going to have to worry about a wire tap. But if I call someone who is on the list of Al Queda suspects then I can count on someone listening in on my conversation. WE must never let down our guard, even if we do like the guy in office 90% of the time, but we also have to be sure to get the facts straight from the source, and not from the buffoons at CNN :-)
